Blessings In Disguise
Every single mistake is a blessing in disguise. Mistakes actually serve as the best teacher. They can make us smarter and wiser. But only if we learn the lesson we are supposed to, otherwise we will make the same mistakes over and over again. To learn from a mistake, we must first own it, meaning we cannot blame someone else for what happened.
When we blame others we don’t take responsibility for our actions, which prevents us from learning our lesson. And how we you learn from a mistake? Gratitude! When you look for as many things as you can to be grateful for in a mistake, you magically turn that mistake into a blessing!
Gratitude Exercise
To practice this think about a mistake you made in the past that still hurts to think about. (Yes this may be painful, but bear with me). Then ask yourself 2 questions:
- What did I learn from this mistake?
- What are the good things that came out of the mistake?
Regardless of what happened, there is always a lesson to be learned, and through that we can exercise our very own power to turn mistakes into blessings.
